Summary of June Meeting
[The main speaker at this meeting was special guest Fred Brownbill, Presdient of the Save America Foundation. Attendance was around 50. Please make sure to attend the next meeting! Your attendance is greatly appreciated and your input provides our organizers with information and direction.]
Barbara Knick, our Organizer, kicked things off by leading the pledge of allegiance. She noted some of the things that the group is working on, including various efforts on upcoming events and other efforts geared at affecting the 2011 and 2012 elections. Barbara pointed out that she is trying to get Sheriff Richard Mack to appear our August monthly meeting.
The first speaker was Ben Campione whose topic was the newsletter. Ben noted that the June 2011 newsletter was available at the WSTBrevard website. He briefly reviewed the June newsletter and followed up with a discussion on the new format and how anyone can contribute to its content in the future. Ben also covered one of the articles in the newsletter regarding International Monetary Fund. Also, mentioned was the continued battle between the EPA and Florida over Water Quality Standards. This is a very important topic that every citizen of the state should be concerned about. Please refer to and read the articles in the recent newsletters.
Matt Nye then took the stage to briefly review the meeting he planned for June 15, which covered all the ways that we can use social media to our advantage as activists, politicians, etc. Social media will play an important role in politics in the next election and we need to be prepared to use it effectively.
Penny Canales took the stage and reported on the Brevard County Commission. Penny has been doing some excellent work keeping track of what is going on at the county level, especially with regard to Community Redevelopment Areas (CRA). She has been on top of this for the past few months and it would serve everyone who lives in Brevard County well to read her work. She has publish multiple articles on this topic, including one that is published in the July 2011 Newsletter.
Just prior to our main speaker for the evening, Barbara played the video ‘The Rights of Man’. Please, if you have not seen this video, take a few moments to watch it. You can view it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jONF4D_sTK8&feature=player_embedded
The main speaker was Fred Brownbill. Fred was born and raised in Rhodesia and also lived in South Africa. He fought in active service for seven years in Rhodesia before leaving when Independence was announced and a Marxist Government under Robert Mugabe took over. Today, Fred works as a Deputy Sheriff for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. He is currently president of the Save America Foundation. Additionally, Fred is involved with multiple tea-party groups and is actively working with the OathKeepers.
Some of the items that Fred touched upon include his belief that the Federal Reserve is an illegal corporation and its very existence helps to breed corruption in politicians. As a result of their policies he believes that a huge rise in inflation is coming soon. Things are happening quickly in this country where every day individual liberties are attacked by the government. Fred likens the president’s soaring rhetoric to that of Mugabe’s in Zimbabwe as he transformed the government to Marxism.
Political correctness has been an enabler for much of what is wrong and being done currently to this country…in our schools, our military, and every facet of society. It is responsible for the ridiculous rules of engagement that our troops fight under. It has infected the workplace where people advance not because they are the best person for the job, but because of race, sexual orientation, etc. Political correctness can also be found in schools where environmental initiatives, race, and sexual orientation are taught as part of the curriculum, and where zero tolerance policies leave no room for simpler solutions to some problems. And, political correctness has helped radical Islam to flourish in America and across the world.
Fred touched upon Marxism and one of its core tenets of wealth redistribution. He believes that Marxism is being pushed by the current administration upon this country through various channels. Regulations are strangling our country with the EPA leading the way and regulatory czar Cass Sunstein at the forefront. Our dollar is being destroyed. And, we are alienating our closest allies: Great Britain and Israel.
Fred noted that the conservative movement is only partially completed and that there is a long way to go. He noted that even with the 2010 election, 80% of the elected members of the house and senate are incumbents and that many republicans still don’t get the message. We all absolutely must do our research on the candidates and select only those that will right the country.
While much of Fred’s speech was centered around what was wrong, he ended with his belief that the American people will eventually come around to save the country and the Constitution. America is the greatest country in the world! At the end of his speech he pointed out that we should do what we can, but don’t do nothing! [The Brevard 912 group and in our newsletter we have been pushing this theme for months].

Barbara followed up with a quick discussion on some of the events that were coming up, a request for additional participation by both members and non-members, and a thank you for that attended what was a very successful meeting.
At the conclusion of their presentation, Barbara, Linda, and many members stayed on to field questions and discuss various topics with anyone who attended.
[As this is one person's summary of an event that took about two hours, it is highly likely that some areas of importance are being glossed over or overlooked. If you attended the meeting, please take a moment to email us at wstmelbourne@gmail.com to convey your thoughts on the event (whatever they may be), including important topics that might have not been covered thoroughly enough in this summary.]
